A Comment From Miss Caitlyn Dyszel about Miss Igaly's Latest Club Review

Dear Ms Becky Jewell,
I am writing this notecard to you to express my concerns about the march issue of Shemales in Secondlife, in particular the review about the TG club Twisted Shemales, as written by Matilda Igaly. While I know several others who share my views on this, I stress I write this on personal title.
I've tried looking at this review from every possible angle but no matter how much I try, I cannot see any journalistic intergrity in this review, nor can I shake the feeling that this whole review has been the current all-time low in an ongoing vendetta that the author , Matilda and her friend/lover/slave ( tick where appropriate since i honestly don't know ) Pussy seem to have ongoing against Twisted. This feud seems to originate in Pussy's employment history with this club.
While Twisted may have some (serious) flaws, I can not relate, or understand, the venom with which this article has been written. Buum is trying very hard to please everyone who is a part of this club and as a result has to make choices at times that do not please every visitor or employee of the club, but as whole are well received by the majority of his club. ( In which he invests a lot of time and money I may add ) I thought that part of being an adult is to learn to ignore those things you do not agree with and cannot change, instead of starting these kind of slander campaigns.
I am very disappointed to see that nobody seems to have thought about giving the club and it's management a chance to defend itself against these allegations in your magazine which leaves me to wonder if this article was simply placed without any editorial reviewing, or was an easy way to notch a popular club down a notch or two in favor of another club.
In short I cannot shake the feeling that your magazine has been used as a means to get a serious dig into Twisted Shemales' reputation for personal reasons. It is my opinion the author was very much aware of what she was doing. Truth be told, the British gutter tabloid press would salute the way this has been handled.
In case you are wondering..I am a nobody in the SL tg scene and feel comfortable with that , I used to dance occassionally for Twisted in the past. I have no ties to this club other then the occasional visit , during one of which I bought a copy of your magazine. I've made some very bad purchases in SL over the years, but I will admit that buying the march copy of your magazine ranks in the top 3.
A mistake I do not plan to make again.

Yours Sincerely,
Cait.

  1. And here wa my reply to the message inworld.

    Dear Caitlyn Dyszel,

Thank you for your concerns over the review of Twisted Shemales Club. I understand your feelings and if you so choose to not give the magazine another chance then I am sorry.

I read the review before it was published and in my opinion that while it was not hugely kind to them it was not far from the truth either. I have been on several different occasions a tenant in the mall co-located with the club. Many times I went there I found the lag so bad that it was taking 3 or 4 minutes to even see there was a shop in my space. This is three or for minutes worth of lost sales since most residents of SL will not wait around for that long to see what's there but will head directly for the club. I have also many times gone there and experienced lag so bad that I quickly moved to another club. I personally have nothing against Mr. Jansma and have always gotten along well with him to date. Now having said that I can appreciate what Mr. Jansma goes thru in operating a club in SecondLife since I myself have owned one. And I tried to continue running it when my partner left, but I quickly came to the conclusion that I was not meant to run a club and closed it down.

Now If you are interested you can also voice you opinion on our blog at smslblog.blogspot.com and we have a poll up to find out what other readers think about it. If the club wishes to reply to the article it is more then welcome to do so on the blog site, that is a part of the reason we put it up there. Also while you are there check out the tag "Club Reviews" to read all of matilda's reviews, ( all two of them so far) and you will notice that the previous one does not rate much higher.

Since I don’t know where you are from I will not comment on that. But since the servers for the most part and the company behind SecondLife, i.e.: Linden Labs, as well as myself as publisher of this magazine, are located in the United States of America, we will publish within the laws that govern the press here and exercise our freedom of speech and that will apply to any writer for the magazine. As long as it is not slanderous of Liable it will be allowed to be published, and nothing I read in the review was either, it was entirely an Op-Ed piece and as such fell well within publishable guidelines.

In Conclusion Ms Dyszel, yes I did read the article, and no, I did not find any reason to practice socialist censorship on it. The author stated right up front that she had previous experiences with the club but also said she would try not to let them get in her report, she did make an effort to compliment some of the staff, Specifically Katie and Denise.
